Why Tour the Lights in a Chauffeured Vehicle

Driving yourself to see Christmas lights sounds simple until you are circling Balboa Island for a parking space in the dark, or trying to keep three kids buckled while you look for an address. A lights tour flips that: someone else drives, everyone rides together, and the evening is about the lights instead of logistics.

Everyone Looks, Nobody Drives

The whole group faces the lights, not the road. No one is navigating one-handed, no one misses a display because they were watching traffic, and the driver knows which streets are worth turning down.

No Parking, No Cold

Balboa Island in December has almost no parking. We drop you at the best viewing points, wait, and move on — with a heated cabin to come back to instead of a ten-minute walk in a wet parking lot.

Make It the Event

Bring cocoa, cookies and a playlist. Add dinner before or after. Families turn it into a tradition, couples use it as a date night, and friend groups use it as the December catch-up that actually happens.

The Route Everyone Books

A three-hour tour, built around what actually lights up. Yours is adjusted for your pickup city and which night you ride.

  1. 6:00 PMPickup at home. Cocoa stocked, blankets out, holiday playlist already playing.
  2. 6:30 PMBalboa Island loop — the densest concentration of decorated homes in the county. We drive slow and stop for photos where it is safe.
  3. 7:15 PMBalboa Peninsula and the harbor front, with the boat parade route if it is running that night.
  4. 8:00 PMCorona del Mar and the coast, then inland toward a second cluster of large residential displays.
  5. 9:00 PMDrop-off at home. Optional dinner or dessert stop if you booked four hours.

Where We Take You

The best displays move a little each year. We check what is lit before your date and build the drive around it.

Balboa Island & Peninsula

Newport Beach. The classic OC lights drive — decorated cottages, harbor views and the Balboa Island ferry area.

Newport Harbor Boat Parade

Mid-December, five nights. We drop you at a waterfront viewing point, wait, and collect you after.

Corona del Mar & Crystal Cove

Coastal drives with ocean on one side and lit homes on the other — quieter than Balboa and just as pretty.

Huntington Beach

Pier, Pacific City and the downtown blocks, plus the residential streets just inland of PCH.

Old Towne Orange & Fullerton

Historic neighborhoods with big front yards and heavy decorating — good for an inland route with a dinner stop.

Anaheim Hills & Yorba Linda

Large hillside homes and epic residential displays. Best paired with a 4-hour booking because of the drive time.

Pick Your Tour Vehicle

Sprinter (10–14)

The best all-rounder for a lights tour. Stand-up headroom, big windows, easy on narrow island streets.

See Sprinters

Stretch Limo (up to 10)

The classic date-night or small-family choice. Warm cabin, mood lighting, and a proper entrance at dinner afterwards.

See stretch limos

Party Bus (20–30)

For big families and friend groups. Stand, move between windows, and keep the cocoa and cookies going all tour.

Christmas Lights Tour FAQs

A Christmas lights tour is a chauffeured drive through the best-decorated neighborhoods and waterfront displays in Orange County. You get picked up at home, ride in a heated limo or party bus with your own playlist and hot cocoa, stop for photos where it is safe to do so, and get dropped back home. It is typically booked as a 2 to 4 hour experience for families, couples or friend groups.

Christmas lights tours in Orange County usually run 2 to 4 hour charters with all-in pricing covering the chauffeur, fuel and standard fees. Splitting a 4 hour tour across 10 to 14 people often works out cheaper per person than driving yourselves and paying for parking and gas. Call (714) 313-9173 for an upfront quote for your date and group size.

The most requested stops are the Balboa Island and Balboa Peninsula displays in Newport Beach, the Newport Harbor Christmas Boat Parade in December, Corona del Mar, Huntington Beach's Pier and Pacific City area, the historic neighborhoods of Orange and Old Towne, Fullerton, and the large residential light displays around Anaheim Hills and Yorba Linda. We build the route around what is actually lit on your date.

Yes — the Boat Parade is one of the most requested add-ons and runs for five nights in mid-December. We drop you at a waterfront viewing point, wait, and pick you up afterwards. Because parade traffic is heavy, we recommend booking the 5 to 9 PM window and letting us handle the parking entirely.

It is one of the best family bookings of the year. Children stay warm and buckled in, there is no parking lot walk in the cold, and you can bring snacks, hot cocoa and blankets. Car seats and booster seats are available on request — just tell us the ages when you book.

Two hours covers one tight neighborhood loop. Three hours is the most popular choice and covers two areas with a photo stop. Four hours lets you add the Newport Boat Parade or a dinner stop. Most groups book 3 hours, and we will tell you honestly if your wish list needs more time.

Yes. Hot cocoa, coffee, snacks and desserts are all welcome, and we provide coolers, ice and glassware. Guests 21 and over may bring wine or champagne. We enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy for underage drinking, and valid ID is required for anyone drinking on board.

Book by mid-November for December weekend dates. The 6 to 9 PM window on Fridays and Saturdays is the first to sell out, and the week of the Newport Boat Parade is the single busiest period of the month. Weeknight tours are easier to secure and just as well lit.
